Sydney : Glebe Markets

After long weekdays, we all need time to relax and go to places that can boost our creativity and happiness. Glebe Markets would be a great place to visit on Saturday with friends and family. It is on every Saturday from 10 am to 4pm on Glebe Point Road, near Broadway shopping centre.

It has an enjoyable, relaxing and vibrant atmosphere. I went there countless times for thrifting books, homeware and clothing, not to mention the Mexican, Chinese, Lebanese and American food stalls. Glebe Markets is a place where you discover old and new, as people sell handmade and/or used items. I love the feeling of going to Glebe not knowing what I will discover on the day. It is like a treasure hunt, where you look for items you love that people may no longer need or love.

Wedge Expresso is a cafe located across the road from the market that offers Cold Drip coffee, and the heavenly, elegant and nicely made sandwich, The Henry, and much more. The atmosphere is laid-back so you can enjoy the food after a treasure hunt at Glebe. Sappho Book is a general second-hand bookshop across the road that offers a wide range of genres of books for a reasonable price. I can always find some good reads in Sappho.

"Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated." This is what I learnt from my countless trips to Glebe. Sometimes, happiness can be achieved in the easiest way by being part of a community. You can go to Glebe to listen to live performances, enjoy various cuisines, and thrifting.
